AT FIRST
At first you might think that she cast a magic spell on you,
Until you realize that she never meant for you to fall,
It hurts when you realize that she is not in love with you,
You must understand you're responsible for how you feel.
You're the one who must determine,
How you're going to show your love,
You're the one who must figure out,
How you're going to share your touch,
She's the one who will decide to,
Accept or reject your loving,
She's the one who will decide to,
Accept or reject your kissing and hugging.
Don't fear, it is okay to rise above the convention,
You're smart, you'll be able to create your own invention,
I trust what you do comes from your very best intentions,
Listen to your heart it will lead you in the right diction.
You're the one who must determine,
How you're going to show your love,
You're the one who must figure out,
How you're going to share your touch,
She's the one who will decide to,
Accept or reject your loving,
You must accept her decision,
Without anger, without judgement.
Smile, laugh, relax, pay attention to the way she feels,
It helps if you're listening to the things she's saying,
Don't act like you're desperate to get all her attention,
True love is a commitment built over a real long time.
You must put your best foot forward,
And you must make your best effort,
And remember to be yourself,
And to not act like a phony.
At last you might live happily ever after with her,
Or at last you might find out that things,
Don't work out as you planned,
But, at least you made your best effort,
And you put your best foot forward,
Hopefully you learned some lessons,
That will help you carry onward.
