The Turkey
There was a turkey,
Coming out of the woods trying to cross the road,
He made me nervous,
I didn't know if he would stop or go,
So I stopped and I gave him the right of way,
It took him a moment to realize that it was okay,
And in that moment I realized,
There was a beautiful creature before my eyes,
A sentient form of life,
Just trying to survive,
If I'd been driving a little bit faster,
Would I have had a little disaster,
I wouldn't have gotten into no trouble because turkeys ain't got no rights,
But that don't mean that I don't respect a turkey's life.
