WHEN WILL MY LONLINESS END
(SUNG TO THE TUNE OF THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND)
I've been having relationship problems all my life,
Nobody wants to be my wife,
I don't even have a girlfriend,
When will my lonliness end.
I Keep pursuing women who turn me down,
Hoping that their hearts will turn around,
I keep hoping that they will see,
The very best parts of me.
I've been having relationship problems all my life,
Nobody wants to be my wife,
I don't even have a girlfriend,
When will my lonliness end.
I met her at the food coop,
She was struggling with the sponge mop,
She gave me a big smile when I offered to help,
Which caused my heart to melt,
During the break I sang her a song,
She sat and listened, it was three minutes long,
She told me I sang nicely and returned to her work,
That just made me feel mushier about her,
Then one night we were talking at a cafe,
Where she worked and I went to play,
After the open mic a slimy man asked her for a hug,
Then she hugged me to wipe the cooties off,
One night I called her up at work, And invited her to a concert,
We sat together and I danced with her,
I thought maybe I had something special with her,
We roamed through gorges, We roamed through gardens,
Filled with natures beauty and with garbage,
From the fraternity, Whose dumpster was nearby,
We went for walks in parks, creeks and gardens,
Had long conversations on the telephone,
Then she said she was moving to Vermont,
To become a Park Ranger,
I've been having relationship problems all my life,
Nobody wants to be my wife,
I don't even have a girlfriend,
When will my lonliness end.
As I go walking through the city,
I see many women who are very pretty,
Be I keep hearing this voice in my head,
That says she would never go out with me.
